Ecommerce startup Octane raises fresh funds, announces new product Shoppable Quiz

An ecommerce startup that automates sales, marketing and support for online retailers and businesses has raised $4.25 million to beef up its ecommerce offerings.

The funding for Octane AI, which brought the total funding so far to $9 million according to the startup's press release, was led by Bullpen Capital along with participation from True Search, Boost VC, Mana Ventures, FJ Labs, Nelstone Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, Larry Braitman (Angel Investor, founder of Flycast Communication and Adify), Jeremiah Owyang (founder of Kaleido and Catalyst Companies), and Adam Schwartz ( CEO and founder of Articulate). 

Founded in 2016 and based in New York City, Octane AI is the ecommerce world's leading platform for Facebook Messenger and SMS marketing. Online retailers and entrepreneurs use Octane AI to automate marketing for their online stores, from capturing the visitors’ attention to sending personalized Facebook messages to customers reminding them of the items they left in their abandoned cart. 

Octane AI is used by some of the world’s biggest ecommerce brands. The company has made some partnerships with leading ecommerce and technology companies. These include Refersion, Shogun, Gorgias, Klaviyo, ReCharge, Ecommerce Fastlane, EcommerceTech.io, Retention Commerce, Trellis, Re:amaze, Shoelace, One Rockwell, Blue Switch, AdQuadrant, Verbal and Visual, Taproom Agency, Hawke Media, Lucid, Mutesix, Q3 Digital, Roswell Studios, Prestige Media and Chronos Agency.

Octane is adding a new feature, the Shoppable Quiz

In addition to the fresh funding, Octane also introduced a brand new product called Shoppable Quiz, which brings the retail consultation experience online with a personalized shopping experience, featuring a fully customizable quiz that integrates with Shopify store and other ecommerce technology platforms. 

Currently, on beta phase, the Shoppable Quiz can be used by businesses in all industries to make a product recommendation, acquire new customers, personalize a sales pitch, reveals new products or services, help customers find their size, gather feedback, recommend gifts, entertain customers, answer frequently asked questions (FAQs), and build buyer profile data.

Octane AI made celebrity-branded bots for top celebrities, which include Maroon 5, Cardi B, and 50 Cent. Today, the US-based startup is shifting its muscles, focusing more on the ecommerce world.
